Penttilä House is located in the centre of Oulainen at Putilankatu 1. Built in 1914, this wooden Art Nouveau house is one of the town’s most valuable buildings and offers cosy facilities for small celebrations, meetings and accommodation.
From 1 January 2026, reservations for Penttilä House are handled through Törmänhovi.
A Historic House in the Heart of Oulainen
The house was originally built by Juho Oksa, Oulainen’s first primary school teacher. Later, it was home to Judge Martti Penttilä and Headmaster Irja Penttilä and their family.
The building was thoroughly renovated based on plans by Arkkitehtitoimisto Kari Huotari Oy, and the restoration was awarded the Viisikanta Building Award in 2016.

Facilities for Celebrations and Meetings
Penttilä House is ideal for small events such as:

The ground floor includes a kitchen and three separate rooms available for rent. The facilities are equipped with modern meeting technology, including a Full HD projector, screen and sound system.
If activities extend to other rooms and cause disturbance, the entire ground floor must be reserved.
Kitchen and Equipment
The kitchen is shared by all users and includes:

double coffee maker and toaster

tableware for around 30 people
There is no freezer. Tablecloths are not provided, but protective table covers are available.
Accommodation at Penttilä House
Upstairs there are four rooms available for rent: Juho, Amanda, Kustaa and Frans.

the others are single rooms

extra beds can be arranged separately
There is a shared bathroom and shower upstairs.
Duvets and pillows are provided, but guests should bring their own bed linen.
WiFi is available.
The downstairs kitchen is generally available for guests, but simultaneous event bookings may limit its use.
